ViennaSHE is a multi-dimensional semiconductor device simulator based on the deterministic solution of the Boltzmann Transport Equation using Spherical Harmonics Expansions. The method provides much shorter execution times than Monte Carlo methods at comparable accuracy, thus making it an ideal candidate for next-generation TCAD. Unlike traditional macroscopic models such as drift-diffusion, the full carrier distribution functions are computed, giving full information about the carrier energy distribution as well angular components of the momentum.
